Blau Salvatge is an octet that combines different musical styles, resulting in a vibrant and dynamic sound. The project, led by the Mallorcan composer and vibraphonist Joan Pérez-Villegas, uniquely encompasses jazz with different elements of the classical and traditional, generating a kaleidoscopic experience for the viewer. The group is made up of members with different origins, Spain, Germany, the United States and Switzerland, which means that the compositions have a wide variety of cultural influences. This multiculturalism not only defines the character of the group but also brings incomparable depth and colors to its music. Blau Salvatge invites the listener to embark on a sonic journey that transcends traditional boundaries, providing the global music scene with an innovative and fresh perspective.

The new album Hiraeth (microscopio label, 2025) reflects on the feeling of belonging in contrast to the feeling of uprootedness. What shapes our identity: being born in a place, leaving it or living in constant flux without settling anywhere.
