With a magnetic stage presence and a voice that connects tradition and contemporaneity, American singer China Moses has established herself as one of the most versatile figures in jazz today.
Daughter of the legendary Dee Dee Bridgewater and theater director Gilbert Moses, she grew up surrounded by music and stages, but she soon forged her own identity. From her beginnings in soul and R&B in the nineties to her immersion in jazz, her artistic journey is characterized by constant stylistic evolution and a strong interpretative personality.
She has combined music with audiovisual communication as a presenter and publicist, and has promoted stage projects focused on the history of vocal jazz and the legacy of great female singers such as Dinah Washington and Nina Simone.
Among her most outstanding works we find albums such as This One’s for Dinah (2009), Crazy Blues (2012) or Nightintales (2017), where she already pointed to a contemporary look at jazz and soul.
Her most recent project, It’s complicated… (2025), confirms this evolutionary line: a sophisticated and personal proposal that explores human emotions with a current sound, combining jazz, soul and modern influences. This work shows a mature artist, capable of moving between tradition and innovation with captivating naturalness.
Live, China Moses conceives each concert as a narrative experience: a succession of stories, emotions and complicity with the audience, where her voice becomes the common thread of an intense and elegant musical journey.
At this festival, she offers us a unique opportunity to discover —or rediscover— an artist who understands jazz as a living, vibrant and profoundly human language.
