Pianist and composer Lucía Rey presents her new work Nómadas (Beatclap Music, 2024), a project that explores a diverse and cohesive musical imagination. Her compositions combine elements of contemporary jazz with influences from Mediterranean folklore, current music and certain electronic textures, creating her own language that stands out for its timbral richness and attention to detail.
In Nómadas, Rey travels through different rhythmic and melodic landscapes, proposing a sound journey where tradition and modernity converge. Her career includes stays and collaborations in the United States and other countries, experiences that have contributed to broadening her artistic perspective and consolidating an increasingly personal voice.
Her performance will allow us to discover a mature proposal, focused on composition and the exploration of new sounds within the framework of current jazz.
Lucía Rey Quartet has been recognized with one of the 2026–2027 Awards awarded by the Jazz España Platform to two emerging Spanish jazz projects, chosen by festivals associated with PJE from the Jazz España Catalogue, a selection of the best musical projects in the country.
