Mallorcan musicians Tomeu Garcias and Joan Garcias are part of a new generation of creators with a solid background and intense activity in the jazz scene. Tomeu Garcias, a trombonist born in Llucmajor, trained at the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands and later at the ESMUC, establishing himself as one of the most outstanding trombonists on the current state jazz scene. For his part, Joan Garcias, a double bassist born in Llucmajor, trained at the Conservatory of the Liceu and has developed an extensive career collaborating with numerous prestigious bands and musicians on the state scene.
The two brothers come to us to present the album Tomeu & Joan Garcias Quartet, a joint project that also brings together Toni Vaquer and Enric Fuster, based on a collection of their own compositions created over the last two years. The repertoire explores a fusion of styles that moves between Brazilian choro, samba and the rawest jazz standards, giving shape to ten original pieces that will be released in the summer of 2026, with a clear commitment to the stylistic diversity and expressiveness of contemporary jazz language.
